Industrial & Production Engineering Open Access Journals

Access to several journals that publish research articles, reviews, and letters in all areas of international industrial and manufacturing engineering.

Publishes articles describing recent fundamental contributions and innovative applications in the field of intelligent control and systems; covers topics such as robotics, automation, manufacturing, intelligent machines, design methodologies & specs, modeling, simulation, system architectures, behavior programming, fuzzy logic, and evolutionary computation.

"The Technology Interface International Journal (TIIJ) is an official journal of the International Association of Journals and Conferences (IAJC).  TIIJ is a peer-reviewed open access journal covering broad topics related to engineering technology, with a focus on teaching.

To maintain a high-quality journal, manuscripts that appear in the TIIJ Articles section have beensubjected   to a rigorous review process. This includes blind reviews by three or more members of the international editorial review board, followed by a detailed review by the TIIJeditors.."

Recommendations for Describing Statistical Studies and Results in General Readership Science and Engineering Journals

This paper recommends how authors of statistical studies can communicate to general audiences fully, clearly, and comfortably. The studies may use statistical methods to explore issues in science, engineering, and society or they may address issues in statistics specifically. In either case, readers without explicit statistical training should have no problem understanding the issues, the methods, or the results at a non-technical level.

Books @ Ozuna Library

Summary: The authors of Mechanical Engineering Systems have taken a highly practical approach within this book, bringing the subject to life through a lively text supported by numerous activities and case studies. Little prior knowledge of mathematics is assumed and so key numerical and statistical techniques are introduced through unique Maths in Action features.

Application of multi-hazard seismic-blast detailing for highway bridges

Abstract: The increase of worldwide terrorist attacks on public transportation has heightened our concerns of protecting the nation's transportation infrastructure. Highway bridges are an attractive target for terrorist attacks due to ease of accessibility and their overall importance to society. The primary objective of this research is to investigate multi-hazard seismic-blast correlations of blast-induced bridge components through numerical simulations of a high-precision finite element model of a typical highway bridge in New York

Summary "The era of autonomous weapons has arrived. Today around the globe, at least thirty nations have weapons that can search for and destroy enemy targets all on their own. Paul Scharre, a leading expert in next-generation warfare, describes these and other high tech weapons systems--from Israel's Harpy drone to the American submarine-hunting robot ship Sea Hunter--and examines the legal and ethical issues surrounding their use. 'A smart primer to what's to come in warfare' (Bruce Schneier), Army of None engages military history, global policy, and cutting-edge science to explore the implications of giving weapons the freedom to make life and death decisions. A former soldier himself, Scharre argues that we must embrace technology where it can make war more precise and humane, but when the choice is life or death, there is no replacement for the human heart."--Back cover.
