What is MLA Style?

The Modern Language Association publishes the MLA Handbook which has become the most common style to follow for research papers in English and Humanities courses.  The handbook provides guidance on how to prevent plagiarizing, finding and evaluating sources of information, and documenting these sources.

MLA 9 is based on the concept that each source has certain core elements which are use to build citations.
