Best Practices for Handling Injuries

An injury incident is reported to District Risk Management Team or Federico Cortez. RM will send out forms to the injured person and their supervisor. This just helps with documentation of the injury for possible workers compensation if necessary, urgent care visits that the injured party may feel they need, etc. It also helps on the Risk Management side to see if there is anything in an office space that needs fixing or if proper training is needed.

For simple cuts, Band-aids and first-aid kits are great for this. There should be First-Aid kits around the walls of Ozuna that get checked and refilled periodically by RM.

For anything life or death type of injuries, it is always best to call 911 directly. This is the only time 911 should be called first instead of our ACPD to bypass their dispatch and go straight to calling in an ambulance.
