2023 Pride Bigger Than Texas Festival

The One, The Only, Official San Antonio Pride Celebration ...

San Antonio Pride

What is Pride?

"The catalyst for Pride is actually a riot—the 1969 Stonewall Riots, to be exact....These days, however, the LGBTQ community around the world uses it as a time to get together and celebrate how far we've come."

Pride Month is an entire month dedicated to the uplifting of LGBTQ voices, celebration of LGBTQ culture and the support of LGBTQ rights. Throughout the month of June, nationwide, there have traditionally been parades, protests, drag performances, live theater and memorials and celebrations of life for members of the community who lost their lives to HIV/AIDS. It is part political activism, part celebration of all the LGBTQ community has achieved over the years.

The first on the Downtown Reach of the San Antonio River Walk will serve as the closing event for the Celebration festival at La Villita.
